New home checklist

Well, now that you have the home of your dreams, let's talk about move in process. It seems pretty simple to move all the material things but it is also a mental makeshift that takes sometime to get adjusted too. Hope this blog helps you make that change with much less worry and equip you with the zeal and energy to make this process a breeze.... :)

Let's start with the list of events:

1. House-warming/ Grihapravesam: This function usually is held when the home is half-way towards completion.
2. List of all the Electrical fittings: Fans, Yellow lights, White lights, Tube lights, Spot lights, Exhaust fans, Chimney
3. List of basic appliances and necessities: Gas range, Mixer, Microwave, Rice cooker, Refrigerator, Water heaters, Washing machine, A/c’s (Windows and Split), Doorbell, Security system (Zicom) etc.
Make sure the basic amenities such as water, electricity, gas/cylinder connection are setup. Also there should be one light and one fan connection connected to the generator/inverter.
4. List of furniture items: Bedroom sets, Mattresses, Dining set, Sofa set, Living room furniture set
5. Others: Provision for drying clothes (Pulley system), Steel ladder, Emergency flashlight, Vacuum cleaner, Shower doors/curtains etc.
6. Woodwork: Wardrobes, Modular kitchen, Living room curio, Bathroom cabinets
7. Basic move-in items: Buckets, Pails, Mops, Sweeper, Dustbins, garbage bags, dish wash items etc
8. Phone/Internet/T.V.cable connections: T.V connections: Tata Sky, Dish TV, local cable network. Internet: BSNL, Airtel, Iqara etc. Phone: BSNL, Tata Indicom, Airtel, Tata Indicom, Reliance etc.
